Green Pond is a lake and private residential community located in Rockaway Township, NJ. The community is managed by two corporations: Green Pond Corporation and Lake End Corporation. Green Pond Corporation manages the residential village located at the top of the lake. Homes in the village are situated on compact property lots. The village features two beaches, a yacht club, a country store, and multiple docks with boat slips for easy access to the lake. Lake End Corporation manages the residential community located along Lake End Road which travels along the southeast side of the lake. Many of the homes along Lake End Road are magnificent lakefronts and offer larger property sizes. Green Pond Lake is a spring-fed glacial lake that is approximately 2 miles long. Homes in the community have a Newfoundland (07435) mailing address.
Green Pond homes are located on Green Pond Road, Johnson Road, Grove Lane, Pleasant Lane, Van Dien Lane, Davenport Road, Sunset Road, Notch Road, Old Lane, Orchard Lane, Shadyside Lane, Dawson Road, Sunnyside Road, Bonnie Brae, Cliffside Lane, Oak Lane, and Lake End Road. Green Pond Map
Residents can use Green Pond Road to access Interstate 80 or NJ Route 23 for their eastbound commute. NJ Transit has a bus line that runs down NJ Route 23 with service to NY Port Authority Terminal in NYC. Lakeland Bus Lines has service to NY Port Authority Terminal in Midtown with stops in Rockaway Borough or Denville.
Public Schools for Green Pond residents include KD Malone (Kindergarten-5), Copeland Middle School (6-8) and Morris Knolls High School (9-12).
Homeowners in either Green Pond or Lake End Corporations pay a fee to the relevant corporation and become "stockholders" in exchange for an interest in the common lands which surround the community. Only stockholders and their guests may access the lake and the community facilities, which include tennis courts, ball fields, a community center, and a membership-only yacht club. The lake is stocked seasonally with trout, bass, sunfish, and bluegills.
The Rockaway Townsquare Mall is about 25 minutes away in Rockaway Township along Interstate 80. The Kinnelon Mall is about 25 minutes away in Kinnelon Borough on NJ Route 23. There are lots of national chain stores and restaurants within close proximity to each mall.
